Finally finished a beer painting I started back in 2007, Stella Artois. I went through a Stella phase, and got over the phase when I realized IPA's are far tastier. I hate unfinished projects, though, so after moving it to 4 different apartments, I put it back up on my easel and powered through it.

Speaking of unfinished projects, looks like i have 86 beers left to go - I better get moving! Expect more to come shortly.

After a long delay, another painting finally goes up on the wall. Sadly, this one is not available to the public as it is my significant other's favorite beer. It hangs in my "game room," otherwise known as the "wall space above the foosball table." My next beer is going to be a little guy, probably in the pen & acrylic style I have been doing over on my sketchblog lately. I have a Firestone Double Barrel Pale Ale that's just begging to be drawn... and imbibed.

(10) Harp Lager

This painting was commissioned by a friend for her sister and her husband who just had their first baby. They named their baby Harp after the instrument that was played in their wedding, but I’m sure it isn’t a coincidence that it’s also named after a beer. The proud daddy owns a beer outlet in New York City. Hopefully they display it there and not in the baby’s room!

When I visited Nashville, my boyfriend's dad had 2 Bohannon Vanilla Creme beers stashed away in his fridge. I was lucky enough to try this delicious beer (which has since been discontinued). It tastes like cream soda. Mmmmmm.

This delicious IPA was also commissioned by the Houston beer distributor. This bottle was incredibly hard to find, especially in a bomber bottle, but luckily my client was able to ship it to me. I think opening a package with beer in it is better than 20 Christmas' combined. Especially when it's such a unique design. This one was really fun to paint... and drink.

(7) Stone Ruination IPA

I was commissioned to paint this delicious India Pale Ale by a beer distributor out of Texas. I had never even heard of this particular beer but was able to procure it through my favorite local liquor store, Wally's Wine. The beer is supposedly named for it's "ruinous effect on your palate." But for an IPA fan (like myself), it is just plain ol' tasty!

I had a very curious beer, Harar, at Messob in Little Ethiopia. It had the appearance of a wheat beer (somewhat cloudy and orange), but was a tad bitter, and I thought the flavor was reminiscent of when you add Sake to Sapporo (I would say vinegary - but that makes it sound like it would be gross). It was quite tasty and complimented the spices in the food very well.

My brother asked me to send him a test mail piece because he doesn't think his mail is working. I decided to personalize a postcard with a little sketch of his favorite beer, La Fin du Monde, made by the same folks at Unibroque who make Don de Dieu. My brother asked me to paint his favorite beer, La Fin du Monde, brewed by Unibroque. That beer seems to be impossible to get a hold of, so a salesperson at Wally Wine here in Westwood recommended another Unibroque beer, Don de Dieu. I tried this beer last night.... SO DELICIOUS. Might be a new favorite. It's a wheat beer with a slight banana taste to it. But it's very light. Read more about the beer here.

I cheated and did this with acrylics because I have to take it on a plane in less than 24 hours. It's 10" x 20".

After a couple years of drinking Milwaukee's Best Light ("the Beast") at Dayton, I had a Blue Moon at had a life changing realization: Beer can actually taste GOOD.
